Warhol and Titanic !

Went to the ArtScience Museum yesterday, really to see the Titanic exhibition, which was as moving as you would expect, although somewhat hyped, did love the underwater images of the wreck, it is almost not possible to think about what happened as real, to imagine the horror......
Strangely enough, the ArtScience Museum chose to juxtapose the Titanic with Andy Warhol..... a rather bizarre mix if you ask me (which of course you did not:o) but.... but but but.... and here I am going to surprise myself... I quite liked it.... it was like one end of the human spectrum to the other, from the blatantly commercially irreverant to the eternal quest for understanding what life is all about...
Does that make any sense?
I was even more surprised to see that there were pieces of Warhol's I actually liked, yep, cat out o the bag, he is not my favorite.... think I have changed my mind a bit though..... am thinking about it, now that we have time to think?

  1. Just been catching up on your thoughts! What a heartbreaking thing to have to hear after a 10 day slog at a so called art & craft market. We do what we do because we have to & then we do it again for the bills. Apparently it's all to do with balance...arghhhhh!

I've had one sale on at new Etsy shop & I'm learning about tags... ;)

  2. Andy Warhol went through artistic periods that just don't work for me at all. But so much of his other stuff I LOVE! I have the "cookbook" he made with Suzie Frankfurt and it's fabulous. http://roddyandginger.blogspot.com/2012/02/wild-ras.html
Anyway... I'm glad you had a good day at the museum and it got your wheels turning!
