I am amazed by the reasonable prices, and dismayed by the quality..... the same goes for the various print exchanges I participate in, surely clean hands and paper and a straight plate is the least you could ask for???<br />And thanks for noticing, that I do take a lot of care over my prints..... I appreciate that!Mariann Johansen-Ellishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06873725757086592684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8450316668370685617.post-9752607642247181662010-10-26T08:43:19.794-07:002010-10-26T08:43:19.794-07:00Yes, I agree - original prints are the Best! I hav...Yes, I agree - original prints are the Best! I have bought a number of original prints over the last year, since I started my own Etsy shop. I am often amazed by how reasonably priced they can be. However I do find that the quality seems to vary enormously. Some (like yourself) put so much care and hard work into the print; others produce off-centre, badly-inked up, scruffy pieces of work - yet they still offer them for sale. Why would I want to buy these - especially when I can have a Mariann original made with care?Lizziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11918211625453430621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8450316668370685617.post-26422378722003682632010-08-18T23:23:18.122-07:002010-08-18T23:23:18.122-07:00I couldn't agree with you more! I have been collecting prints for years (I even have several Mariann Ellis ones ;^>) I still enjoy looking at each of them. I bought a print for my son-in-law's birthday from one of my favorite etsy printmakers, Andrea Starkey. Do you know her work? http://www.etsy.com/shop/starkeyart Her reduction prints don't look like lino at all!Atelier Contihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17406574186162890210noreply@blogger.com
